Background tasks

Meeting agent

The Meeting agent joins your meetings so you don’t have to take notes, remember action items, or worry about follow-up.

It works quietly in the background: joining meetings, recording what matters, and delivering a clear summary after the meeting ends.

What the Meeting agent does

When enabled, the Meeting agent:

  • Joins your virtual meetings automatically

  • Records the meeting

  • Creates a full transcript

  • Generates a clear summary with:

    • Key discussion points

    • Decisions made

    • Action items with owners

    • Important concerns or follow-ups

Your summary and recording appear in Trickle shortly after the meeting ends.

How the Meeting agent works

  1. A meeting is scheduled on your connected calendar

  2. The agent joins the meeting automatically (if enabled)

  3. The meeting is recorded

  4. After the meeting ends, processing starts

  5. Within 5–15 minutes, the transcript and summary are available in Trickle

You can review everything later without relying on memory or notes.

Supported meeting platforms

The Meeting Agent works with the major video conferencing tools:

  • Google Meet
Joins as a participant and records the meeting.

  • Microsoft Teams
Joins meetings and may need to be admitted from the waiting room.

  • Zoom
Requires the host to allow recording permissions.
The agent may need to be admitted from the waiting room.

Requirements

For the Meeting Agent to join successfully:

  • The meeting must be scheduled at least 10 minutes in advance

  • A valid meeting link must be included in the calendar event

  • Some platforms require the host to admit the agent or allow recording

If any requirement isn’t met, the agent won’t join automatically.

Auto-join vs manual use

You can control how the Meeting agent is used per connected calendar.

Auto-join enabled
  • The agent joins all eligible meetings on a calendar automatically

  • Best if you want consistent coverage without thinking about it

Auto-join disabled
  • The agent does not join by default

  • You can request it only for specific meetings

Add the agent manually

Paste a meeting link (Google Meet, Zoom, or Teams) into Trickle, and the agent will join that meeting directly.

This is useful for:

  • Ad-hoc meetings

  • External meetings you weren’t invited to

  • Calls that weren’t scheduled in advance

Important notes for manual use

  • The meeting link must be valid and accessible

  • Some platforms may require the host to admit the agent or allow recording

  • Manual joins still follow the same recording and summary flow

What you receive after the meeting

Once processing is complete, Trickle provides:

  • A full transcript (timestamped)

  • An AI-generated summary, including:

    • Executive overview

    • Main discussion topics

    • Action items and owners

    • Key risks or concerns

  • Access to the recording

Everything is stored securely in your Trickle account and can be accessed anytime, or exported as a PDF.

Customization

Email summary notifications

You can choose how summaries are shared by email:

  • None
    No email is sent.

  • Just me
    Only you receive the summary.

  • Everyone on the invite
All meeting participants receive the summary email.

This helps you decide whether meetings stay private or are shared by default.

Language settings

You can customize how meetings are processed:

  • Summary language
Choose the language used for AI-generated summaries.

  • Transcription language
Use automatic detection (recommended) or select a specific language.

The Meeting Agent supports multilingual meetings and international teams.

Agent name and appearance

The Meeting Agent joins meetings as a visible participant.

  • You can customize the agent’s name
    Example: “Alex’s assistant (Trickle)”

  • The name is visible to all meeting participants

This helps keep meetings transparent and avoids confusion.
